The exact mid-point between De La Soul's Daisyage sampledelia and N.W.A.'s gangsta tales of the street, East-Coast group EPMD influenced a generation of hip hop crews. Here's their first underground hit from 1988, Strictly Business, the title track from their brilliant debut album. Great lo-fi vid, too!
This superb slice of maximum RnB from Nuggets/garagerock legends the Sonics turned up on the James 'LCD' Murphy-curated Greenberg soundtrack recently and sounds as amazing as ever. Not surprising that James chose it as he namechecked (3 times) the Tacoma, WA 5 piece on his brilliant hipster-baiting anthem, 'Losing My Edge'.

Have been really enjoying the Maximum Balloon album by TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek and featuring a cavalcade of guest stars including Little Dragon and Karen O. I particularly like David Byrne's turn on 'Apartment Wrestling' here in Prince Klassen edit form.
