Speaking of 30 year anniversaries the one and only Ze Records (through Strut) is celebrating three decades of amazing tunes in the shape of a new compilation Ze 30: Ze Records Story 1979-2009. The album focuses on some of the less celebrated gems (from the likes of Suicide and Casino Music) from the archives alongside Ze classics from Was (Not Was) and Kid Creole & The Coconuts. Featured on the Rapture's nifty K7! mix last year and probably best known for supplying one of the numerous breaks for MARRS' Pump Up the Volume, Stax house band the Bar Kays' Holy Ghost is a tune in its own right. Correct me if I'm wrong but it may have also been the inspiration for respected DFA discoists Holy Ghost!'s moniker. dis-co.
